Issued by Scotiabank at $150 CAD annually, the card earns 3x Scene+ points at Sobeys-banner grocery stores, 2x at other eligible grocery stores, dining, entertainment, and daily transit purchases worldwide, and 1x on all other spending. The combination of no foreign transaction fees, 6 complimentary airport lounge passes per year, and a 10 GB GigSky international data plan makes this one of the more complete travel companion cards in the mid-fee segment.
The card was rebranded from "Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite" to Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite + on April 25, 2026, with the GigSky data plan added as a standard cardholder benefit. Fee, earn rates, and core travel benefits carried over unchanged.
Who this card is for
This card is a strong fit for travellers who make purchases in foreign currencies regularly — online shopping from international retailers, travel bookings in USD or EUR, or spending abroad — and want a Visa that waives the standard 2.5% foreign transaction fee. The income requirement is $60,000 CAD individual or $100,000 CAD household. Six lounge passes cover a couple of international trips with a lounge visit each way. Everyday earners who do their grocery shopping at Sobeys-family stores will also get meaningful value from the 3x rate on those purchases between trips.
Key benefits
The no foreign transaction fee is the centrepiece. On a $5,000 CAD international trip or a year of cross-border online shopping totalling $3,000 CAD, the eliminated 2.5% fee saves $75–$125 CAD — real money relative to the $150 CAD annual fee.
Six complimentary airport lounge visits per year come through the Visa Airport Companion Program. For a traveller taking three international round trips annually, that's a lounge visit on each departure.
The earn rate is tiered: 3x at Sobeys-family stores, 2x at other grocery stores, dining, entertainment, and transit anywhere in the world (useful given that you're likely using this card internationally). Scene+ points redeem for travel through Scene+ Travel at 1 cent per point, or for Cineplex, groceries, dining, and other categories.

Potential drawbacks
Scene+ is a useful but less flexible currency than Aeroplan for premium international flight redemptions. The base 1x rate on non-bonus spending is below average for a $150 CAD card. Six lounge passes are finite — frequent travellers taking many international trips per year may exhaust them. The Visa Infinite income requirement also narrows the eligible applicant pool compared to the lower-income-threshold Scotiabank Gold Amex.
How it compares
The Scotiabank Gold American Express earns substantially more Scene+ points on groceries and dining at $120 CAD annually and also waives foreign transaction fees, but Amex acceptance is narrower — the two cards are natural companions rather than direct alternatives. The RBC Avion Visa Infinite offers comparable Visa Infinite benefits at $120 CAD annually, but earns Avion points rather than Scene+ and doesn't eliminate foreign transaction fees. If no foreign transaction fee is your primary need, the Passport Visa Infinite + is one of the strongest mid-fee options available in Canada on Visa.
