Consultation terms

Who We Are
Consultations are provided by Creditcardpicker Canada (“we”, “our team”), a sole proprietorship registered in British Columbia and based in Vancouver, British Columbia. We run creditcardpicker.ca. You can reach us at [email protected].
These terms apply when you book and pay for a consultation, alongside our terms of use and privacy policy. They are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Nothing in them limits the rights you have under the consumer protection laws of the province or territory where you live.
What a Consultation Includes
A consultation is personalized guidance on getting the most from credit card rewards programs: which cards earn the most on the spending you already have (rent, groceries, dining, gas, travel and the rest), how to earn and combine points or cash back, and how to redeem them, whether for travel or for money back. Each consultation includes:
- a 45-minute video call, at a time we agree on with you; and
- a written plan, sent by email within 3 business days of the call.
The guidance is based on what you tell us, so the more complete your answers, the more useful the plan.
What a Consultation Isn’t
A consultation isn’t investment, tax, legal, insurance or credit-counselling advice, and it doesn’t cover debt repayment, debt consolidation or credit repair. We aren’t licensed or registered financial advisers, financial planners, insurance agents or travel agents, and we don’t present ourselves as any of them.
When a card’s insurance comes up, we describe the coverage as the issuer publishes it; whether it suits your needs is between you and the insurer. If your question needs one of those professionals, we’ll say so.
You Stay in Control
You make every decision and take every action yourself: applying for a card, transferring points, and booking flights, hotels or anything else. We never ask for your passwords, PINs or access to your bank, card or loyalty accounts, so please don’t send them. We don’t book, buy or pay for travel on your behalf, and the only money we handle is the consultation fee.
No Guarantees
Card issuers decide every application. We can’t guarantee that you’ll be approved, receive a welcome bonus or get a particular credit limit, and applying for credit can affect your credit score.
Award seats and prices change quickly, and card and loyalty programs change their earn rates, fees, transfer partners and rules, sometimes without notice. Our guidance reflects what we know when we give it. Check the current terms with the issuer or program before you act.
Card and Program Rules
We don’t advise breaking a card agreement or a loyalty program’s rules, for example by selling or pooling points in ways a program doesn’t allow. You’re responsible for following the terms of your cards and programs; breaking them can lead to closed accounts or lost points.
Price and Payment
A consultation costs $99 in Canadian dollars. That’s the total: no sales tax or other fees are added.
We reply to your request within 3 business days with a few times to talk and a secure payment link from Stripe. You don’t pay anything until we’ve agreed on a time, and you accept these terms when you pay. Stripe processes the payment; we never see your full card number.
Cancellations and Refunds
- Cancel up to 24 hours before your call for a full refund.
- Inside 24 hours, or if you miss the call, you can reschedule once at no charge. After that, the fee isn’t refundable.
- If we cancel or can’t keep a time, you choose a new time or a full refund.
- If your request turns out to be outside what a consultation covers, we’ll tell you before you pay.
To cancel or reschedule, reply to our email or write to [email protected]. We issue refunds within 5 business days, to the card you paid with; your bank may take a few more days to show it.
Liability
We give every consultation with care. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for anything arising from a consultation is limited to the fee you paid for it, and we aren’t liable for indirect losses such as missed bonuses, lost points, fees charged by card issuers or changes in travel prices. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that the law doesn’t allow us to exclude, and your rights as a consumer are unaffected.
Where Consultations Are Available
Consultations are available to residents of Canada who are 18 or older, except in Quebec for now. If you live in Quebec, our guides, card quiz and card reviews are free to use.
Your Information
To arrange and give your consultation, we use the email address you write from, the note you send and what you tell us on the call. How we handle it, how long we keep it and how to ask us to delete it is set out in our privacy policy.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms. The version in effect when you pay applies to that consultation.
